Temp Ocean Freight Clerk - Immediate Start - Coventry, CV2 area

Our client is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight Clerk to join their busy team in the Coventry area. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong sea freight / ocean freight experience to handle end-to-end shipments and provide first-class customer service.

This role offers hybrid working with 1 day working from home per week after training.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage FCL and LCL ocean freight shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Liaise with shipping lines, hauliers, overseas agents, and customers.
• Prepare import and export documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.
• Ensure Incoterms and customs compliance.
• Track and monitor shipments, proactively resolving any delays or issues.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal freight systems.

Key Skills & Experience:

• Previous ocean / sea freight forwarding experience is essential.
• Strong knowledge of shipping documentation and Incoterms.
• Good communication and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Familiar with freight forwarding software (CargoWise, ASM Sequoia, BoxTop, or similar).

Salary: £28,000 per annum - Negotiable

Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00 - 17:30 (1-hour lunch)

Location: Coventry, CV2 area - Hybrid (1 day WFH after training)
